W F riday , J une 21 S aturday ,J une 22 • Donald Horn and Myra Donnelley, in con junction with triangle productions!, hold the dedi cation and open house of the AIDS Memorial Room and Archives Room at the Theater! The atre! building, 3430 SE Belmont St., in Portland. The rooms will be open for public viewing from 2:30 to 7 pm. The AIDS Memorial Room will house a per manent display of “life journals” representing people who have lost their lives to AIDS here in Oregon. The Archives Room will be available for collecting, storing and displaying gay/lesbian and theater memorabilia. For more information, call 230-9404. • Lesbian Avengers holds an annual Dyke March for fun and visibility. Meet in the North Park Blocks at Northwest Eighth Avenue and Davis Street. A rally begins at 6 pm, with the march following at 7 pm. • Pride Northwest Inc., organizer of this year’s Portland Lesbian and Gay Pride, kicks off its Pride weekend events with an All-Ages Dance from 7 to 10 pm at Waterfront Park, Southwest Front Avenue and Ash Street, in Portland. • The Oregon Gay and Lesbian Film Festival begins tonight with a gala benefit showing of Stonewall at 7 pm and / Shot Andy Warhol at 9:30 pm. The festival runs through June 30 at Cinema 21,616 NW 21 st Ave. Gala tickets are $ 12 at the door (separate admission), tickets for regular shows are $5.50. (See the full schedule in the ad on page 20.) • Tonight is the penultimate night of the Port land Women’s Theatre Company’s run of Anton Chekhov’s play The Three Sisters. Tickets are $10 general, $8 for students and seniors. The theater company-is located at 1807 NE 39th Ave. in Portland. For reservations, call 287-7707. • The annual Portland Lesbian and Gay Pride Parade starts at 11 am at Northwest Ninth Avenue and Everett Street. Floats and groups should as semble in the North Park Blocks at 9 am. The parade will wind its way through downtown, ending at Waterfront Park. • A rally is slated for 1 pm at Waterfront Park that will feature a slew of speakers and perform ers, including Chastity Bono, who will give the keynote address, as well as openly gay state Reps. George Eighmey and Gail Shibley, the Portland Gay Men’s Chorus, the Portland Lesbian Choir, and others. Food, music and a potpourri of booths will be at the rally site. • Pride Northwest sponsors another dance at Waterfront Park, beginning at 7 pm. Music by Boka Marimba. • Portland’s Lesbian Community Project and Love Makes a Family present Pride Bingo! at Scandia Hall, 1125 SE Madison St., in Portland. Doors open at 6:30 pm and play begins at 7 pm. Free child care is available. For more informa tion, call LCP at 223-0071. • The City Nightclub, Northwest 13th Avenue and Burnside Street, presents a Gay Pride Show with Rosebud XX Lady O Boulevard, this year’s reigning monarch of the Rosebud teen drag queen court, and a cast of female impersonators. Call 224-2489 for more informa tion. • Queer Night at LaLuna, 215 SE Ninth Ave. in Portland, presents Foam Pas (they say it’s French for “slippery when wet”), which is being touted as “Portland’s first-ever foam party.” The all-ages event begins at 9 pm; swim wear is recommended. Cost is $10 at the door, $8 in advance« • • Code Blue hosts its annual Lesbian Pride Dance from 8:30 pm to 2:30 am at Montgomery Park, Northwest 27th Avenue and Vaughn Street, in Portland. The 21-and-over dance also features a wet T-shirt contest and a raffle for an all- expenses-paid trip for two to Las Vegas. Admis sion is $10 at the door, $7 in advance. For more information, call 282-6979. • A Red Hot and Lickable dance begins at 8 pm at 1130 SW Main St. in Portland, with San Francisco’s DJ Downtown Donna, Go-Go danc ers and a smokeless dance floor. Advance tickets are $10 general (available at It’s My Pleasure) or $20 VIP (includes dinner buffet and free cham pagne). Ages 21 and over. • The Lesbian Community Project sponsors a Country Western Dance from 9 pm to 1 am at Scandia Hall, 1125 SE Madison St. in Portland. The Rosetown Ramblers will be on hand; tickets are $8 at the door. Waterfront Park. Entertainers include the Rose City Gay Freedom Stage Band, Tucson country rocker Jess Hawk Oakenstar, J.R. Pella and Bazuka Jazz, and The Objects. • Sports fans may want to check out the softball game between the Rose City Softball Association, a gay and lesbian league, and the Portland Police Bureau. The game is set for 2 pm at Alberta Park, Field No. 2, Northeast 22nd Avenue and Ainsworth Street, in Portland. A donation of $5 is requested. The game is a benefit for Pride Northwest, the Rose City Softball Association, and a charity to be named by the Portland Police Bureau. • An Abundance Festival will be held from 6 to 10 pm at the Full Circle Temple, 3125 E Burnside St., in Portland. The event includes a crafts fair, music, dancing, healing. It is free and open to all women. Bring finger food to share. For further information, call 236-2768. S unday , J une 23 S unday , J une 30 • Pride Weekend continues at 9 am with a pancake breakfast at Waterfront Park. The cost is $3. Jazz pianist Kiera O ’Hara and jazz duo Donna Luckett and Barb Galloway will perform. • At 10:30 am there will be an Interfaith Service cosponsored by Pride Northwest and Metropolitan Community Church Portland. Draw ing upon traditions from Judaism, Native Ameri can spirituality, Christianity and Eastern spiritu ality, the service will express this year’s Pride theme of “United in Justice, Together in Free dom.” Music will be provided by Bridges, the Port land Gay Men’s Chorus, and an artist-in-resi- dence at the Portland Opera company. Scheduled speakers are Portland attorney Emily Simon and The Rev. Roy Cole, pastor of Portland MCC. • Pride Weekend activities continue at noon at • The Jewish Lesbian and Bisexual Women’s Brunch group meets to nosh and shmooze from 11 am to 1 pm. The gathering is for Jewish lesbians and bisexual women only. For location and access information, call Katharine at 287-6082. • The 10th Annual Peacock in the Park, a benefit for the Audria M. Edwards Youth Schol arship Fund, will be held at the Washington Park Amphitheater in Portland. Hosted by Maria, the event begins at noon with a picnic, followed by a show at 4:30 pm.
