WEST SHORE. 855 PORTLAND'S GREAT EXPOSITION. The wondrous growth of the Pacific northwest within the past few years has attracted widespread and universal attention to this country throughout the entire United States. Just as the Paris World's Fair was intended to represent the material progress of the world, and as the Chicago W&rld's Fair is in tended to represent the great material progress of the United States, so it is expected to make the Portland Industrial Exposi tion the coming fall a compre hensive representation of the wonderful growth and develop ment of Oregon and Washing ton. The exhibits will comprise a full display of the natural products of the Btates, showing their vast agricultural, mineral timber and fruit resources, and representations of the great mer chandise and manufactured pro ducts that this country offers a market for. Prominent among the exhib its will be the display of the great firm of Stavbr & Walker, whoBe headquarters are in the New Market Block, Portland, Oregon, and who have their own branch houses at Spokane Fall?, Wab., Walla Walla, Wash., Se attle, WHsh., Pomeroy, Wash., Colfax, WaBh., Moscow, Idaho, LiGrande, Oregon, and Med ford, Oregon. This firm carry the largest and most varied line of Machin ery and Vehicles handled by any one firm in the world. Their exhibits will comprise Station ary, Vertical and Marine En gines and Boilers, Saw Mills and Shingle Mills, Wood-working Machinery, Brick and Tile Machinery, Steam Excavating and Road Grading Machinery, and Machine Supplies of all kinds, as well as Farm, Dairy and Mill Machinery, WagonB, Buggies, Carriages, Harness and Vehicles of every description. It will certainly be of Interest and advantage to all our read ers who may visit the Portland Exposition, to examine careful ly the exhibits of Stavkb '& Walker, or call and see them at their headquarters at the New Market Block, Portland, pleased and profited, and return home bptter satisfied than ever before with this country and its possibilities. The firm of Staver & Walker have done as much, if not more, for the de velopment of the northweBt than any other one factor Nature alone excepted.
