Jacksonville Post Judge Prim was a recent visitor at Medford. Miss Lulu Jones w as a recent visitor at Medford. Floyd Howard of Butte Falls was a recent visitor in this ci'y. Clarence Reeve of Happy Camp Cal. was a recent visitor in this city. Jack Morrill’s gray auto has been stolen from the garage at the Morrill ranch near Gold Hill. The Jackson County Fair Association is cut of debt and has a balance of $55.36 in the treasury. A thoroughbred saddle horse belong ing to Mrs. Ruth Clemmons who re cently bought toe Benton Bowers ranch was stolen from Central Point, Tues day. The ore haulers from the Blue Ledge mines went on strike this we.*k as a protest against a cut of $2.00 a ton in I the price for transporting ore from the mine to the railroad at this city. The haulers assert that with the ad vent of the rainy season, the price for hauling should be raised rather than lowered and this contention is true as every reasonable person would admit. With the present high price of copper the operators should be willing to pay the haulers a living wage at least.
