the republican ticket last fall and who helped to elect a
democratic senator from Oregon. While it is no doubt
right allow the erring ones to come back into the fold,
many true and tried members of the party believe that a
deserter will bear watching lest be breaks faith
a ain. The article in the Sun is headed in large type
across the whole page, “Republicans join with Progres-
sives at Lincoln Banquet, ” but to some it seems that
good taste as well as adherence to the truth would re
quire transposition of the names at least.
Shall the tail wag the dog? Will the Republicans of
Jackson county allow the Medford Sun and a few agitat
ors to dominate the party only to desert it in time of
need? The success or failure of the party depends upon
the answer to these questions.

There is only one way to cure deafness,
and that Is by constitutional remedii s.
Deafni as is caused by an inflamed condi
tion ot the mucous iining ot the Eusta
chian Tube. When this tube Is intiamed
you have a rumbling sound or Imperfect
hearing, and when It Is entirely closed.
Deafness is the result, and unless the in
flammation can be taken out and this
tube restored to Its normal condition,
hearing will be destroyed forever; nine
cases out of ten are caused by Catarrh,
which is nothing but an inflamed condi
