How about a public paik for Jacksonville? With n one-half mile of the town is a site which would bean ideal location for a park and we believe that a lease of it for such purpose could be obtained irom the owner, Mr. Britt cn very favorable terms. The place referred to is at the city reservoir, a flat of several acres now in timber and which with a little work could be made easily accessi ble, not only to our own people but to parties from neigh boring towns and would be an ideal resort in which to spend a few hours, especially on hot Sundays next sum mer. Almost every family in our city could donate., flow ers and other plants which with a little work removing underbrush and making a few grass plots and flower beds would create a truly sylvan retreat. Think it over and then get busy, now is the time of the year to begin. ■■■ - »«» --- .a ¿’ifcTBC $ rrcÎLjiiioa r_ -• ’Gx M —»i-,V.A a 1 After C-l year3 cf activity by the friendd of prohibition the average American today consumes almost six times as much liquors as did the avera.-’e American of 1850.
