Arant, has re ceived a letter from Lieutenant Colo nel L. M. Brett, U. S. A., wl o is act ing superintendent of the Yelkwstone national park, stating that an attempt is to be made to trap several colonies of beavers and distribute them to the various national parks Ihrougl out tl e West. He asked Mr. Arant if he thought he could ire s< me of these colonies to advant age and if the con ditions in his park were favirable to the propagation of li e be. ver. Following the receipt of the letter Mr Arant made a careful ii vestigation aid became convinced that tne con ditions prevailing in the Ctater Lake park were ideal for the raj id increase of the beavers and selected three olaces where he is desirous of placing the colonies he is in hopes of securiug. He has made application for three colonies and if his requisition is grant ed he will make arrangements for the placing of them at points where the natural conditions are favorable to their habits of life.
