City Council Meets. * Usual Routine—Engineer Osgood Dis cusses Water System --- Advises Thorough Investigation of Jackson Creek-Special Meeting Next Tues day. The city council met in regular session Tuesday even ing. The usual routine business, such as hearing reports, allowing bills, etc., was transacted. Engineer Osgood being present was introduced and took up the matter of a water system for the city, urging the necessity of care in the selecting of a source from which to obtain the water. He recommended that a care ful investigation of Jackson creek and other streams be made by competent persons before deciding to use the water from the city well. The gentleman seemed to understand his business and showed that it was better to “make haste slowly” and thus avoid making mistakes which in future might prove serious and costly errors. After considerable discussion it was decided that Mr. Osgood make examination of different sources of water supply and report the results to the conncil next Tuesday evening.
