The party consisted of Mr. William Brown the prosperous merchant of Eagle Point, Mrs. William Brow >, his wife, Miss Lottie Taylor, his sister inlaw, also his brotherinlaw, and Mr. H. Clark Rippey of Portland. The chief interest of the occasion centered about Miss Taylor and Mr. Rippey who in the pleasantest misxl possible entered upon the marriage covenant. The bride is known as one of the most highly respected young ladies of Eagle Point, whose future welfare will be followed by a host of friends, while the groom is a prosperous young business man of Portland, who is building up for himself a character which commands respect. We shall follow them with interest, and, bespeak for them a happy voyage over life’s matrimonial seas. 0. »JLKINSON A FREE MAN II. O. Wilkenson, of Medford was in- ilictel by the grand jury for selling liquor to minors, and w as arraigned bi - fore the circuit Saturday. The indict ment was faulty inasmuch as it accused H. O. Wilkenson w ith the selling intox icating liquors to minors without ment ion of the bartender. Wilkenson pro.tn that he did not personally sell lipuor to a minor and was discharged. A “John Doe” indictment is in the hands of the officials charging the selling of liquor to minors. Just who this John Doe is a question interesting several of our citizens. The liquor whs sold in Jacksonville, or alleged to have been sold. This session of the circuit court will cost the county about $6.000. and the docket is the longest in the history Ot the county.
