Jacksonville Post or F1CIAL PAPER OF THE CITY OF JACK SONVILLE. OREGON Published every Saturday by the Peat Pub- ishing Co. J. B. Barnes, Editor Admitted a. second-class matter at 'Jacksonville, Oregon. SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 1908. SUBSCRIPTION One year, by mail............................. HOW IS THU >1.50. Country life has its <lr:i v!> . ks but it hxs its great atvan'agcs which overcome them. True those who live in the country are "Rubes” and “Farm ers ’ and “hayseeds" to the cigarette smoker in town, but the boast of the business men in the world today is that they were born on a farm. Take away the surrounding evils that beset the young men or women on the thres hold of life’s journey in the city, and substitute the helpful influence of na ture, and you fortify them for the sterner walks in life. The few things which they do not know about table etiquette and when it is proper to leave two visiting cards and when but one, they will catch onto much quicker than city boys and girls will learn to properly stroke the furnace or make good bread No boy or girl need be ashamed of living on the farm, for if they have taken advantage of what it has offered they are well futified for after life. The purpose of stile udveilising is th.*rt*>>l*. iei.1 for mli'h olh'-r anti turlher rvliof .«;• not merely to sell goods, but to sell to the court may ju-om ju t and •ciuilable.
