DON’T “LOAF” II >w often we hear amoung men, and young men too, whose every move- ment is instinct with health and strength and whose eyes sparkle with mental force—the expression that after the days si op work is over people should rest to avoid decay. And “rost” in this case means giving ones self over to pure idleness, the first cousin to a regiment of bad habits, the reader can readily marshal before his minds eye. The idle are prolific in excuses for their criminality, for idleness is a crime, though it be not so termed in the police Code. In printers we are not infrequently regaled by some wily old-timer with the dictum that it is wearing on his brain and eyes to read and think after a hard day’s work. This may be harmless and solacing to the man tierd of the fray and waiting for the call of “time.” Not so with the young man; it lulls his conscience to sleep with its false assertions and affords plausible justification for the wicked conclusion it eventually leads to. $10,030 TO BE RAISED TUR ROADS den and Ora Gorden, his wife, James L.Gorden and Emma Gorden, his wife, Uriah Gorden and Della Gorden, his wife, Addie Vincent and R.
