Fire of unknown origin played
havoc with barns, woodsheds
and automobiles on Fourth

garage of H. B. Fletcher, resi­
dent engineer of the State High­
way Commission, and had gain­
ed considerable headway before
it was discovered. As all the
fire company, except five, were
out picnicing, it was impossible
to save the barn and with it
went a state car, a buggy and
some discarded household goods.

The boys worked heroically to
save it, but it, too, was destroy­
ed- The Goff barn in the same
district was also badly damaged.
The Fletcher woodshed was so
badly damaged it will be neces­
sary to rebuild it. Fruit trees

sustained much damage. Tl:e
Fletcher flower garden which re­
ceives so much admiration, has
undergone a change. The honey­
suckle vine does not ding to the
window as it did. The sweet
peas are not so fragrant. The
choice roses are faded.
The
pansies do not smile so cheerful­
ly at passers-by. But just a little
time and Mrs. Fletcher's faith­
ful care will restore the beauties
of the garden.
