The annual meeting of the Ashland W. C. T. U. and election of officers took place last evening at the home of Mrs. Angle on Main Street. Margaret E. Sangster says: “Let us join the great host of thoughtful and compassionate women, who refuse to wear birds as ornaments. In empty nests, in heaps of gay feathers and broken wings, in songs forever hushed, there is a loud wailing protest against the barbarity of fair women, who are willing to be decorated at this great cost,” Majorities often rule; but majorities cannot make wrong right. The one man who stands out on the jury for a right verdict may have sound reason to com plain of “the eleven obstinate men” who are against him. The real question at issue in any discussion is, “What is the light view?” not “How does the majority see it?” One man with God is always in the majority.—S. S. Times.
