W. C. T. U. Gleams. Ladies Should Call Upon Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteous ness.—I John 3:13. Temperance is the moderate use of all things helpful, and total abstinance of all things harmful.—Union Signal. From “Notes from the Interstate W. C. T. U. Conference at Prohibition Park” in the same paper, we glean: “That it is said because of the split at Pittsburg, prohibition is discussed as never before;” and that “Rev. W. F. Berger prophecied that in 1908 we will have a million women enlisted for prohi bition, and that they will vote.” And really we believe there must be “somethin’ a cornin’ ” when the broth ers “speak that way,” and look and lis ten attentively for more to follow. “James Clement Ambrose, the noted temperance lecturer, was lately nomin ated for Congress from the seventh Illi nois district, and will give September and October to the campaign.” Now is the chance for “temperance people” to write on the single issue of prohibition. How many will “come out” and vote for it? That will certainly be a clean ticket. Ashland Harket Reports. Hay, Flou r , Fd, Etc. £ B. C. R. F. Mill Co.’s • » OPP. CITY HALL, » Feed Store.
