One of the favorites, if not the favorite, of our first platforms, Selah Brown was most cordially received. Mrs. Baxter’s lecture, “The Reason for the Hard Times,” most potent with truth and logic, was very ably and forci bly presented, and was by those so for tunate as to hear it, pronounced second to none delivered during the Assembly. Dr. Carlos Martyn, with the courage of his convictions—on the right side of every moral and social question—was rightly appreciated, and was pleasing as well as forcible. Next comes Dr. Dille, and we can say nothing more expressive of our appreciation than to repeat what was heard so many times after the de livery of his sermon, “The Christ of Today“Was it not grand, good?” and we reply “yes” in the superlative degree.
