W. C. T. U. Gleams. |T’S HUMAN NATURE A committee of United States Sena tors appointed to investigate the nature of cigarettes brought in a report that they were all injurious to youth, and the petition against their sale in the District of Columbia was signed by two hundred fifty physicians, besides teach ers and other important personages. And just here, we repeat it, that our own progressive state has given us such a creditable law, but still our boys are seen smoking the “deadly cigarette,V in the face of all the facts condemning it as blighting to body and mind. Let parents and true patriots come to the front for the protection of our future citizens, that we do not become a nation of imbecile. One has forcibly said: “The man who would wrong your son by selling this poisonous drug to him, deserves greater punishment than he who robs you of vour property.” What a revival there would be in all the churches to-day, if it were certain that Christ would come to-morrow.— Ram’s Horn.
