The Program of a Week Ends with the Gradua tion Exercises. The Graduating Exercises of the Ash land State Normal School will l»e held in the Chautauqua Building Thursday eve ning, June 11, 1896. Following are the names of the gradu ates—thirty in number—and the program of the evening: NORMAL CLASS. DEGREE, B. 8. D. Lincoln Savage, Susie Homes, Bertha Williams, Rosa Dodge, Hypatia Klum, Nora Sheean, Theresa Bryant, Dolly Davis, John Harvey, Mabel Reid, Anna Nelson, Clyde Taylor, Effie Armitage, Dora Colvig, Walker Peed, Maysie Fos ter, Lizzie Palmer, Louis Thomas, Isabel R o 3 s , Gertrude Sutton, Lillian Sackett, John Stewart and Minnie McCloskey. In the forenoon, at 9:30 o’clock, the procession formed on the plaza in the order announced in a previous issue, and marched to the Ashland Cemetery, where the G. A. R., in loving remem brance of fallen comrades, did them honor in the usual manner. After the exercises in the cemetery, a program was rendered in the Chautauc ua Build ing. The exercises there consisted of music, G. A. R. orders, etc., and an ad dress by Prin. C. A. Hitchcock—one of those studied, elevating discourses so characteristic of the lofty, well trained ■ mind of the Principal. In the afternoon, the dead in the Hargadine and the Talent Cemeteries were remembered and honored by their comrades after the usual manner of the G. A. R. exercises. Are You Satisfied? NO. li. The A. A. A. Entertainment. The management of the A. A. A. have secured two extra numbers for their en tertainment to be given in the Opera House June 5th. Those who took part in the Indian Club Drill daring Com mencement have kindly consented to repeat the same. The young ladies of the High School will also repeat the Scarf Drill which was received with such favor. Miss Caroline Herrin, of San Francisco, will be present, and will favor the audience with several piano selec tions. This entertainment is for a cause which is expected to be of benefit to all the young people of Ashland and vicinity, and should be liberally patron ized .
