There came very near being a quite serious affair Monday night at the res idence of Henry Werth, a few miles from here. A boy by the name of Julius Pawles came here last night for the constable, saying that Henry Werth had been shot by a brother w’ho was staying with him; several shots were fired, which frightened the l>ov and he ran away. Later, we have heard that when the constable arrived there, he w*as informed by them that they w*ere only cleaning their guns, but the firing was in the the house, and the supposi tion is that there wras a quarrel between them and they settled the affair l»efore the arrival of the officer. “ M.” LOCAL SQUIB8.
