Shattuck, of Henley, Cal., was in Ashland last Monday. —Judge Neil arrived in Ashland from Jacksonville yesterday. —Harry Emery returned from Rose burg Saturday evening. —C. H. Gillette returned Friday from the mines near Jacksonville. —Deputy Sheriff, S. A. Barnes, was in Ashland on business Monday. —Miss Carrie Roper returned home Monday evening, so we are informed. —State Printer, W. H. Leeds, came down from Salem on yesterday’s train. —C. C. Walker returned from San ‘ Francisco via Portland on Sunday’s train. —G. W. Smith went to Roseburg on Sunday evening’s train. His business may call him to Portland. —C. B. Webster and Chas. Bolton went to McCloud, Cal., last Friday to work in a sawmill at that place. —Prof. P. H. Daley, of Eagle Point, is dangerously ill as a result of over training during the football season. —Ora Kahler, of Tolo, a prospective candidate for County Recorder, was in town yesterday “buzzing” the delegates. —R.
