Their Present Facilltk» Inadequate and They Will be Increased. The quartz mill of Hicks A Co. is be ing more efficiently fitted out with new, modern machinery, and when it is all put in, they will have one of the most complete ore-crushing plants in South ern Oregon. Some of the machinery will lie started in a few days. They will work over the large pile of tailings at their mill. About a year’s steady work is anticipated in running them through. A large amount of work is lieing done for outside parties, and with the new machinery, a much larger per cent, of the gold will be saved. The Ashland Foundry and Machine Shops, tinder the management of our able electrician, Mr. Tutthilie, are turn ing out a vast amount of work at pres ent in their line. The only regret of the proprietors is that their shops are not large enough, but it will not be long until they will be able to advantageously handle all orders that come in, instead of lieingsix weeks tiehind with their work as they are now.
