THE MEDFORD DAILY TRIBUNE. MEDFORD. OK.. WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 10. 1008 BUT THREE DAYS MORE TO WIN THE PRIZES Have You Enough Votes to Win the Reo Auto? Don't Be Over-Confident, Because Someone Else May Have TwiGe as Many as You. Ami still "tie more day lias passed and the rontest is one day nearer its close. lo you think that you have enough vMes to win? You may have all kinds of votes and probably you have suffi cient to win, but the question arises, is there not some other candidate in the race wlm at the same time has all inau- ner of votes f And you know there is the chance that she "has just as many votes as you have, and again she may ' have just a few thousand more than you! i have. 1 Winn you lake the above fact into! S consideration, do you not think that you I I had better get busy these last few days' r ,,f the contest and eliminate the chance ' (,f someone having just a few more votes than you? It Would Be Too Bad If, after alt the hard work you have put in during the last few weeks, you were to lose one of these valuable prizes l.v a few votes. You have seen any '.lumber of your friends ami have se t ured thousands of voles from them, ami they gave you these votes and sub scriptions under the impression that you were going to win one of the prizes at Ieal y.m were going io do yunr best to win and it would not be giving vnur friends a fair race were you to -top working now when the race is so nearly over. Tho Prizo-Winncrs i Will be made up of those ladies who work right up to the last moment of the contest, who turn in subscriptions ami voles until the ballot box is closed I for the last time and is ready to be delivered into the hands of the judges. And if you have any idea of winning one f these prizes you had better not give up the fight until the very last moment. All that is required to win prizes in a contest of this sort is the ability and aggressiveness to stick to it until the last dog is hung. Notice to Candidates. The last official standings of the can didates to appear in the paper will be in the issue of Thursday evening, and from that time until the closo of the contest the standings of the contest ants will be the same, in the issues of Friday and Saturday. There will be votes counted after Wednesday evening until ten close of the contest, when the judges to be selected this week will make tho final count. On Wednesday night the ballot boxl will bo opened for tho last time and when locked again the keys wlil be turned over to one of the judges, who will keep it in his possession until the box is opened for tho last count. Pay particular attention to this and do not forget that the position you wlli hold in the paper on Thursday evening will bo tho same you will have in the pa pers of Friday and Saturday. Excitement Grows As the contest mars .1 lie close, and il promises tn be intense during the clos ing hours. Kvevy one in the city can tal kof nothing but the prize contest on the Med ford Tribune and they arc all I rying to pick the winner of 1 lie beaut it'll I lieo Automobile. Unfa ah a rule tluy have a hard time tn trying to select the lady who will eventually carry home the car. All the com, slants are working tooth and nail and are doing all in their power to si cure sufficient votts to land them in the final roll of honor. Assistance Is Forthcoming. To all those of the candidates who are still out securing otes. and there are any number of them. In some iiwtanees: people have been known to subscribe i and then resubseribe, and later on some' more still. j When a contestant approaches a 1 friend and shows them that she will . be satisfied with nothing less than one of the capital prizes, and is so much1 in earnest about securing their sub-1 seriptions, in order to got the votes they, as u general thing, have not the heart to say no, and on the other hand j a person lilies to see persistency and ) det rmin-ttinii in a candidate, and many! rimes, on that account alone, they will help the ciuisij along by taking the i pnjier for a year or two and sending it un- tinii'i in me eoiM , jim promo-: i . jj . it . . . .. b ii. . 1 ci ion hi i ne tion literature for this state. " ' f Thousands of Votes Can b1 secured between now ami" the end of the contest if the candidates will only go after I hem not in 'any half-hearted fashion, but with the fixed purpose of getting them. Because a per son says no the first time that you ask theitl is no criterion that you cannot se cure them later on. Important! All votes that have already been if sued must be in the ballot box by 10 o'clock Saturday nifrht; . although if a contestant is in tho office with her sub pcripMoKs before 10 o'clock and sho cannot bo waited upon at that time, she will be allowed votes on her subscrip tions, these votes to be cast as soon as issued; for instance, if a contestant is in tho office turning in subscriptions and receiving votes, although she is ii v : i . : '''),! n:ss Emu i-riiuejis Ditniirt Nu, t. not finished turning in subscriptions by 10 o'clock, tunc will be allowed her in which to liuish; just so long as a con testant, is in tho office- by 10 o'clock, votes will be issued on all subscriptions , turned in by her, but it would bo wise not to wait until the last moment. ( Subscriptions may be paid in to the Tribune office until 8 o'clock Saturday night. The last of the paper votes appeared ; in the issue of hi; evening, and from ; now on there will be no more issued. In this evening's issue there appears . the picture of Miss Ajna Heeson, of '. District Xo. 3. ! Miss Heeson is making a great fight ; in her territory, and will make some j of the other candidates hustle to beat her; and besides, she has numerous friends to back her up in her race, j DISTRICT NO. 1.
