THE MEDFORD DAILY TRIBTTSTTT BEDFORD. OR., MONDAY. JANUARY 20, 1908. mm and Contestants Surely Stirred Things at the Tnbuie Office Saturday. Votes i'nr the candidates entered in thf Tribune's contest arc coming into the office uiul Imve been over si net the contest first started. No end of excite ment is briny amused all over the vi chiitv in wh ifh the news of the contest has been circulated and many bright i women are already scouring the field for subscriptions. There is a vote published in each is sue of the paper, whih, when properly filled out and broubht or sent to the Tribune office, will count as one vote. There is another and better way of roll in; up a large count quickly, however, and that is by getting your friends and relatives to subscribe to the paper and case their votes for you. If theyl al ready take the paper, get them to take it and send it to an eastern -friend or relative, 'ilus will serve as good pro- mot ion liti'raturo from this section of 11m state. A few dollars cannot be better in vested than by pim-hnsing tho Tribune for one year, us for every cent spent in the contest there is value given for the amount received. Xow is the time, to get in and work for some lmly whom yon think would appreciate winning a prize valued at $1150. By getting a good start now and pil ing 'up a reserve fund to be used later in the contest will count better in the end. (iet your friends in line and solicit their patronage and yon need not have nuv fear of not being successful. Instructions to Contestants. Voting is not restricted in any sense whatever. People may vote as often as they please and for whom they please I10 'matter from what district the candidate is entered. It would be a fine idea for candi dates who have friends in other parts of the state or the I'nited States to write to these friends, stat'ng that he columns of this paper contain as good descriptions of the resources and oppor tunities of this section of the state as are issued. As soon as money is paid on a sul scriotion. send it to this office, together with the stub in tin- receipt book, and votes will be then issued. IE YOU HAVE NOT YET 11 El'EI YE1) A l!lv CK1PT BOOK. SEN!) FOli ONE IM MEDIATELY. The votes issued on subscriptions will be returned at your request, or will be voted in the next day's issue of the lilor. The contest department wishes it un derstood that money may be paid on a subscription and votes will be issued and these votes may be held until the last hour of the contest without any one but the subscriber and the contest--ant knowing anything about them. Votes are counted each day at 3:30 p. in., totals to appear in the next day's issue. Votes after 3:30 p. m. will not lie counted until the next day. Try and Win. The automobile and the other prizes have been remarked upon, and the en ergy and enthusiasm which marked this voting contest from the beginning has not slackened for a moment, and those who have the fewest votes should not become discouraged, for there is still plenty of timo tp. get in and win a prize. Do not let others carry away these valuable prizes without a struggle, but make up your mind that you will be the winner. New names are being entered continually and will he for several weeks. Don't think that it is too late, as it will be seen from the standings in in the paper that only one or two sub scriptions are necessary to be up with the leaders. Enter your name or that of a friend and do your best to win. The prizes that have been selected are all appropriate. The automobile, value 1150, is one of the best on the mar ket. It is an 1008. model and is equipped with all the latest eastern improve ments. The management of the Trib une has been congratulated many times on their foresight in selecting a Ron. The same care has been taken in the selection of the other prizes. The lady who wins the building lot ill (aeen Anne Addition is to be congratulated, as this property is constantly increasing in value, and if the winner does not care to hold it for investment, it will be a beautiful site for a home. Many of the contestants are w. irking the hardest for a scholarship, realizing that once they have attained it they are prepared to enter the vast field of commercialism and to take their place among the army of women workers now occupying that field. The watches that are to be nwa-ded - are little b'-tuities -and are equipped with full j;Wfid Wallham imecmeiit, stem wind and si t. Tin-piano certificates, valued at .im each, are redeemable at the piano, house of Ilab' k In., on the purchase iirice of any piano the Wiyning candidate may Sclor't. Show Your Fr;ids.
