THE MED FORD DAILY TRIBUNE, MEDFORD, OR., WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 15, 1008. 3 FAIR CONTESTANTS BUSY GATHERING THEIR VOTES. L&T SHOWS EACE FOR THE TRIBUNE'S VALUABLE PRIZES IS ) NOW ON IN EARNEST. MANY ENTERED IN CONTEST FOR AU TOMOBILE, SCHOLARSHIPS, CITY LOT AND GOLD WATCHES. CUT THIS OUT. BEDFORD TRIBUNE AND SOUTHERN ORE GONIAN GRAND PRIZE CONTEST ONE VOTE. Good for TWENTY-FIVE VOTES when used as a nomination blank. FOR DISTRICT NO , This Coupon, cut out and mailed to the Contest Department, or depos ited in the ballot box at the Tribune Office, will count aa one vote for the lady whose name is filled in. COUPONS SHOULD BE SENT FLAT, NOT ROLLED OR FOLDED 1 Toiluy is published a full list of the' contestants for the rich iiml valuable prizes that the Meilford Tribune is giving away to popular ladies, together with tho number of votes received by ea,'h, up to 3:30 o'clock yesterday. The lists for the several districts show an added interest on the part of the con testants and their friends, and that no amount of work and energy will be spared to win tlio Grand Capital Prize, the WHS Heo Hoadster Automobile. Every day at 3:30 o'clock the vot ing closes and tho votes nro taken from the ballot box at the Tribune office and counted. Votes nut in after 3:30 p. m. will not be counted until tho next day, and will appear in the next issue t the trib une. Tho city of Medford and tho sur rounding country will booh lie scoured all day long liy the contestants and their friends, getting votes and sub scriptions from every source. First Honors. Nothing but first honors will suffice for those already entered in the hattle ' of ballots, and they are not to be sat isfied until they are declared the victors. That is the only spirit in which to cut r a contest of this kind a stunt of determination which will win out in tho end. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, sn while the opportunity is vours, gra.sp it and make the best pos sible results. Ho not stop because someone refuses to take I lie paper and give you the votes, but instead keep right among them, ami when a person says he don t want the Tribune, .just stay long enough to show him why he should have it. If he is already a subscriber of the pap r get him to pay you the subscrip tion money so you can receive the votes. Votes count up very fast when once the start is made. No time should be lost, as time is votes, and losing time means the loss of a great amount of votes. i Six Weeks Only. The time is brief and it behooves each ami every contestant to do her best ill the matter of securing coupons and votes right at the start. The can didate who works steadily and ear nestly and makes daily gains is the one who is most likely to win in the end. Make the most of each day and makeeverv moment count. The 1908 Reo. The Heo automobile, the (Iraiid Capi tal Prize in the Tribune's voting eon test, has proven to be a very success ful car, old enough to be free from ex periment and good (iiough to be un qualifiedly guaranteed for one year by its makers. Croat care has been taken in the se lection of the automobile, and we feel insured that all will agree in saying that the selection is a wise one. and any lady may well feel proud to be the winner of so handsome a car. The Prizes. The beautiful building lot which constitutes the Soi 1 Crand Capital I'ri.e. will make a beautiful home site for the fortunate winner. It is situ ated in the beautiful (Jueell Anne Ad dition to the city of Medford. and being but five minutes' walk from tin liter of the city, it will uiupiestionaldy very s be tlii- fashionable r,-idence sec tion of Medford. District Prizes. To the lady in each district having the higlnst number of votes after the grand prizes have been awarded will be given the business educations. These scholarships will 1 f inestimable value in after life, and a person once she is (quipped with a sound, substan tial business education, is indeed well prepared for the rough journey of life. The watches which are awarded to the ladies ia each district after the scholarships are decided, are certainly little beauties ill every respect. They are stem wind anil set and are fitter! with the well-known Waltham full jeweled movement. Following the awarding of the watches will be given the piano certifi cates, each certificate carrying a value of ifllio on any piano carried at the Kale Piano House. Seventeen Valuable Frizer.
