For the but two weeks of the recent
campaign Mrs. Bowser had a careful
eye on Mr. Bowser In the direction of
politics. She dM not fall to note that
aa the campaign drew toward Its close

position to mix In politics. He rend
political articles, suspicions men railed
to see him in the evening, ami on sev
eral occasions she beard btm muttering

When Mr. Bowser came borne from
the office the other evening Mrs. Bow
ser knew that some sort of climax
bad come. She expected to bear him
say that he had engaged to address a
great mass meeting of electors, but he

the Siskiyou Copper & Gold Develop
ing company was held Thursday eve
ning for the purpose of electing a
vice-president and treaaurer. Sam
uel T. Richardson, ot the Model
Clothing company, was elected vice
president, and P. O. Lambert, one of
the proprletora of the Mission Grill,
waa elected treasurer. Mattera of
Interest were discussed and arrange
ments were made to have a few of
the business men of Medford, to
gether with an expert miner In the
near future, for the benefit of those
who here who are contemplating the
purchase ot stork In the company.
Recent assays of the quartz ahow
copper as high aa 15 per cent, $8 In
gold and also silver and bismuth,
which latter Is even more valuable
than gold.
The company expects very little
trouble In disposing ot the amount
of stock now on sale upon the re
turn of those gentlemen who go to
Investigate. Shares of stock are now
selling at 26 cents, but whether they
will remain at this price la a ques
tion to be settled at the next meet
ing of tbe company. Those Inter
ested In the company feel that they
have one of the best mining prop
erties In the country, and Ita devel
opment Is only a matter of getting
outsiders to investigate Its merits.
