SAN FRANCISCO, July 7. Plf tewn battleships of the Atlantic fleet sailed today on a royage that Is to take them around the world and end at Hampton Roada, whence they started last December. The six teenth member of tbe fleet, tbe Ne braska, was left behind because of an outbreak of scarlet rever anion k tbe crew. 8he will be held In quaran tine three days and thoroughly fum ixa ted, after which she Joins ber sis ter ships at Honolulu. Without cer emony or celebration of any sort, the fleet got away proirptly at 2 o'clock upon a signal from the Connecticut, and steaming tn tingle column slowly wended their may out of the bay. A few small craft followed In he wake of the fleet as far as the Golden Oate, and gave the big white ships a part ing salute with their sirens, while on tbe bills were scattered groups oile silently watching their de parture, a striking contrast to the enthusiasm upon Us arrival oa May tt. It was 3:10 p. m. when the Ken tucky, last In the line, passed the lighthouse m he eqt;ran.ce to (be Gol den Gate, and an hour later the fleet was lost to view. A splendid picture of America's fighting strength on the sea was pre sented today when the fifteen battle ships of the Atlantic fleet, led by the magnificent Connecticut with Rear Admiral Charles 8. Perry on the bridge headed out of the Golden Gate and bathed their bows In the blue Pacific. In Imposing array they passed beyond the headlands, out of the view of the thousands of cheering watchers on shore and started fairly on the long voyage through five seas from San Francisco to Hampton Roads a striking demonstration of the power and efficiency of the Unit ed States navy. Fifteen battleships were In the line, divided into four divisions and two squadrons. In the first division of the first squadron were the flag-1 ship of Rear Admiral 8perry, the, Connecticut and her sister ships, the Kansas, Minnesota and Vermont. This division, as well as the entire fleet, Is under tbe Immediate com mand of Rear Admiral 8nerry. The i second division of the first squadron 1 Is commanded by Acting Rear Admi ral Richard Walnwrtght, and con sists of the flagship Georgia and her sister ships, the Nebraska, New Jer sey and Rhode Island. Rear Admiral William H. Emory commands the second squadron and third division, and Is aboard of the flagship Louis iana. The Virginia, Ohio and Mis souri are also In the division under the command of Acting Rear Admi ral Seaton Schroder, Is made up of the flagship Wisconsin and the Illi nois, Kearsarge and Kentucky. The Nebraska and .Wisconsin, formery of the Pacli.c ..eet, have taken the places of tbe Maine and Alabama of the Atlantic fleet, which are en route to Hampton Roads as a spe cial service squadron. The fleet auxllarles preceded the battleships by a week, and are now nearlng Honolulu, where they will unload supplies and sail away for New Zealand before the arrival of the fleet at Honolulu. These aux iliaries are the Panther, repair ship: Glacier, refrigerator supply ship; Relief, hospital ship, and Yankton, Cudgea, supply ship; Ajax. collier tender and dispatch boat. Seven thou sand seven hundred and fifty-nine deaths In the United States In seven years, due principally to "Insane" Fourth of July celebratious, ts the shocking total obtained today through a tabulation compiled by the Chicago Bureau of Stalstica. It came as a timely and clinching argument on the eve of the great move for a "sane" Fourth, which was launched under the auspices of Chicago's leading clubs. Already the work of destruction and mutila tion fnctdental to the advance cel ebrations has begun In Chicago and elsewhere. A special tabulation classified according to the ages of the vie- tlms shows that they were found at all stages of life, from the Infant In the cradle to the patriarch of 90. R also reveals an abnormal Increase among the child vlctoms of accl dentally discharging firearms. There were nearly three times as many deaths In 1906 among thoae from 5 to 9 years old as there were In 1900. Chamberlain's Collr, niolera and Iilarrhea Remedy Would Have SaviKl Him SIOO.OO.
