The Mascot The performanos of "Toe Mss- oot" Wednesday night by local talent was on of tbs beet and most finish ed'psrformaneee seen at th Meat ord Opera bouse tbie season and that Is saying a good deal. Mr. Hazel- rlgg secured the finest ooetumes pos sible tor ths prlnolpala and chorus and tbs effect waa great. It la not necessary to praise the einglng or acting ot Mr. Andrews and Mrs. Hazerigg, as Prinos Lor enzo and Bettina, tbey have received ao many encomiums in ao many different places that we ooold add nothing to lb Bumoient to esy tbst Mrs. Uszelrlgg waa a winsome and charming Bettina, and no one oould blame Prtnoe Lorenzo for desiring to retain anno n "Maeoot." When Mr. Andrewe appeara on the stage, "It la to laugh" and everybody did it. Mies Edna Eifert, as Princess Flametta, was In voloe and stage presence all tbs role demanded. Her duet In the aeoond act with r rederia (E. E. Gore) waa especially pleasing. and one oould appreciate the troubles of f ippo, In obooelng between the prlnoeee end Bettina. Dr. R. T. Burnett as Plppo wae in hie element, His solos were well ren dered, and the "Uobble Duet" be tween be and Bettina, waa one of toe moat pleasing numbers of the evening. E. E. Oore tang the role of Prlnoe Frederic and earned hit meed ot applause. H. Withington, as Koooo, the termer, helped Mr. Andrewe furnish most of the oomedy and held op bit end tn that reepeot. The chorus was not the least pleas ing feature of the ehow, both in vcloe and looks.
