THE MEDFORD MAIL Publtibed Tr Friday -12 A. 3. BLITON, Editor MEDFOKU, DEO. 21, 1906. SUBSCRIPTION tl.go PER YEAR Katerad In tba iMMlnmee at Medford. Orrson mt tucond ola mall mattar. " Thi building of brick blocki in Med lord continues, irrespective of the season of the year. Verily, we do grow. From the many things that are being talked of and pro posed to be put before the legisla tive body to make into lawi or not as the ease may be, it will be a busy forty days for that assembly. It 14 to be hoped there is noth ing io the rumor tbat the loss of the Jaeksonville pubiio school building and its contents was due to incendiarism. It is a great mis fortune to any community to lose such an institution, witheut , being called upon to think they are har boring In their midst human be in so low in the scale of wrong doing tbat would be guilty of suoh an act. The national congress is now opening up number of measures that will olaim a good portion of their time in discussion, whether they accomplish anything or not Those who imagined that this would be an unimportant session of con gres did not take into consider ation the amount of business the President would deliver to them to act upon. When person makes a Christ mas present the hope is entertained that it will serve as a reminder of friendship. Then if that reminder could toe made apparent weekly for a year, how much more it would be appreciated. A -ear's subscription to Tiik Mail for an absent friend will accomplish this. Only a few more days until the holidays, then etart in with the new year and see bow well you have pleased your friend during the vear 1007. inree weeks more and the Oregon legislature will be in session. There is mucjj comment by the state pa- pers and citizens as to what legis- lation they ohould make, what thfy will do and what they will not do. But one thing is an assured fact, there is a great deal should he done by the legislators either way. Edison, the electrical wizard, has a new idea which, he thinks, will work many changes in present con ditions. He believes we have been living in the steel age and that in the future the oonorete age will oome in again. It is stated that be has invented a process by which whole houses are molded in a single casting of concrete. He says: "I purpose, after obtaining the designs, to have metallio molds made to correspond with them. The mold for each bouse will be made in de tachable parts. There will be sep arate plates and small molds that cau be screwed together easily ,to form one mold for the entire house. That a fine finish may be obtained, the inside surface will be nickel pitted. After a mold for a whole house is set np, it will bo a very simple matter to pump concrete into every nook and cranny." He- states that under ordinary circum stances concrete villas will not cost more than $5oo or I600 apiece. 3voQoQoaQaQaa Kcdmea Will Take lbs Tows Very Sooe. Ask your grocer for Rogue Rlrer Jreamery butter 70 9ents per square THE SUPERIORITY OF IT ha& been our purpose to handle the best goods that money can Day. mere is out one way to test the quality of goods and that is to try them. We have tried the goods of all the bouses of San Francisco and Portland represented here and have been thor oughly convinced that "Preferred Stock," as put out by the Lewis of Portland, i the best line handled on the Coast, and because of its unap proachable superiority we have purchased the line. As evidence of their superiority these goods took eleven prizes at the Lewie and Clark Exposition. These prizes were warded after the goods had been tested by the National experts. This should be ' sufficient evidence of their excellent quality,, but we don't stop here. There are people- in Medford and vicinity who can add their testimony. We have purchased a sufficient quantity to get a quantity diseount which enables us to sell them For Less Money than ever Sold Mere Before Take for instance the Preferred Stock Corn, which has always sold here- at 20c per can, we can sell for Besides "Preferred Stock" We can sell 8 bars of good This is the beginning of our second years' business.
