The sermon was preached by Rev. Adolph Haberly, pastor of the Presby terian Church. The rauelo was fur nished by the high sohool chorus olub, and a solo by Mrs, Vawtor. The regu lar memorial services were held Wednes day, May 30th. Hon. Matthew Stewart, one of the "boys In blue," delivered tho address, which was spoken of as a moat interesting one and pleasing to all. Prof. N. L. Narregan sang a eolo and tho high sohool band furnished the music. After the sorvloos the soldiers and friends repaired to the oometery whoro the graves were lavishly strewn with flowers. Conrad Mingus, ono of the best known citizens of the county, and for merly a resident of Medford, died at his homo in Ashland, on Friday of lust week, aged seventy-eight years. He was bom lu the state of North Carolina, May 6, 1822, and crossed tbe plains to tbe Pacific coast, settled In California In 18.00. He moved to Oregon and es tablished bis home In tbe Rogue river valley In 1868, and lived on a large and fertile farm near Medford, until taking op bis residence in Ashland about twelve years ago. He was married September 18, 1802, to Lavlna Dollar hide, who, together with four children, Dr. Everett Mingus, of Marshfield, Frank Mingus, of Idaho, and the Misses Clara and Daisy Mingus, of Aahland, aurvlve him.
