This is the telegram from the Tribune: "The governors of South Da kota and Nebraska are de manding the recall of the vol unteers from their states from the Philippines, on the ground that their term of enlistment expired when the ratifications of the peace treaty were ex- ahanged, and that the present conflict in the Philippines is in . opposition to liberty and in the interest of capitalism. Neil, Ashland; Ed. E. Goro, Phoenix; J. C. Whlpp, Jacksonville; P. C. Harth, Grant PaBs; A. 0. How lott, Eagle Point; K. Benedict, Rose burg, and Wm. H. Goro, Medford. Mrs. Clyde, of Ashland, was also present. Hov. W. H. DIordorlT wits elected modorator, and Rev. S. H. Jones and Elder Wm. Gore, clerks. The Presbytery asked the Boards of Aid for Sunday Sohool and Home Mis sions to grant them a sufficient amount to employ a missionary to work in the bounds of Presbytery, giving half his time to Sunday sohool work and half to home mission work. Rev. J. E. Ulair, of Oakland, and Elder A. E. Adams, of Myrtle Point, were elected commissioners to reure- sent this Presbytery at the general as sembly which meets in Minneapolis in May. The vacancies In the nermanent com mittees were filled. Among the most Important changes were the following: The Committee on Homo Missions was reorganized with Rev. P. G. Strange. chairman, and Rev, A. Haberly and Elder C. S. Price. Dr. Townsend, of Roseburg, was elected chairman of the Committee on Education, while Rev. A. Haberly was elected chairman of the Committee on Aid for Colleges and Academics. This is ot vital Interest to Medford, as in his new position Mr. Haberly will be able to present Med ford 's advantages when the question of the location of an academy is decided. it might be stated that besides the offer of a thousand dollar site for an acad- emy, Mr. Haberly informs us that he has been offered three five hundred dollar subscriptions on condition that the academy locate here, and a sufficient cum can be raised to put up at least a five thousand dollar building. With this stimulus we expect Mr. Haberly to do his best to secure the school for itv.
