• IMBLER — The Imbler School
Board of Directors will meet for a reg-
ular session on Tuesday, Aug. 16, at
7 p.m. in room 1 of the high school.
The agenda includes updates on
enrollment as well as updates from the
locker room project and four-day week
committees. The public is welcome to

Josephy Center’s Brown Bag
features artist Dona Miller
JOSEPH — The Josephy Center’s
next Brown Bag gathering is set for
Tuesday, Aug. 16, at noon, featuring
artist Dona Miller, who currently
teaches classes in traditional metal
smithing and jewelry techniques as
well as metal clay. The free talk will
take attendees on a brief stroll through
the ages, from amulets and talismans
for expressing status and beauty to
the creation of one-of-a-kind jewelry
pieces.

Advance directive fair planned
for veterans Aug. 17
WALLA WALLA — The Jona-
than M. Wainwright Memorial VA
Medical Center, 77 Wainwright
Drive, Walla Walla, is hosting an
in-person Veterans Advance Direc-
tive Fair on Wednesday, Aug. 17,
from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The free
event is open to veterans enrolled in
the Walla Walla VA, which covers
Northeastern Oregon. No appoint-
ment is necessary.
Staff will be on hand to work one-
on-one with veterans and their fam-
ilies to provide general informa-
tion and assistance in completing
advance directive documentation
to guide the individual’s family in
making medical/health care deci-
sions in emergency situations. More

with divorce, separation

divorce or separation impacts your
children and what you can do to
help them at a free online workshop
off ered from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday,
Aug. 25. The workshop is facilitated

the Family Law Advisory Committee.

UNION COUNTY SENIOR LUNCH MENU
LA GRANDE — Lunch is served
at the Union County Senior Center,
1504 N. Albany St., La Grande, on
weekdays. The meal is open to the
public.
Dine-in meals are served from
11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; suggested
donation is $4 for age 60+, $7 for all
others. Takeout meals are picked up
from noon to 1 p.m. at the kitchen’s
back door; cost is $7 for all.

WEDNESDAY, AUG. 10
9:50 a.m. — A caller on Jeff erson Avenue, La Grande, asked to
speak to an offi cer regarding animal cruelty. An offi cer made con-
tact and took information.
4:19 p.m. — Union County Sheriff ’s Offi ce received a report of a
sex crime in Union.
6:14 p.m. — La Grande police received a report of animal
neglect on the 1800 block of G Avenue.
6:56 p.m. — A caller on the 69300 block of Antles Lane, Cove,
reported a dog bit someone. A Union County sheriff ’s deputy
made contact and took information.
9:50 p.m. — A resident on the 900 block of East Ash Street,
Union, reported an attempted burglary.
9:13 a.m. — A caller reported a transient camp on May Lane, La
Grande. A Union County sheriff ’s deputy responded and told the
subject to move along.
1:57 p.m. — A caller reported an aggressive dog at large in the
area of Penn Avenue and Second Street, La Grande. An animal
enforcement offi cer responded, returned the dog home and coun-
seled the owners.
2:28 p.m. — A caller reported a dog was in a vehicle at Bud Jack-
son’s Eatery & Taps, 2209 Adams Ave., La Grande.
5:09 p.m. — La Grande police received a report of child neglect.
An offi cer responded and took a report.
9:30 p.m. — La Grande police responded to the 1500 block of A
Avenue on a report of a domestic disturbance. Offi cers counseled
the parties involved.

Gloria Bainter, 87, of Enterprise, died July 27, 2022.
On Aug. 20, a rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. and
Mass of Christian Burial held at 10:30 a.m. at St. Kath-
erine Catholic Church, Enterprise, followed by a lun-
cheon. Arrangements are by Bollman Funeral Home,

a vehicle on the 700 block of 13th Street. An offi cer responded and
took a report.
Donald Dickison Jr.
April 29, 1967 - July 23, 2022
Donald Lewis Dickison Jr. was born April 29, 1967,
in Willows, California. Donald was raised in North
Powder, Oregon, and graduated from North Powder
High School.
In high school, Donald loved sports, especially
basketball. He was a “wild man” on the basketball
court. Donald enjoyed his years in high school and
managed to get into a lot of mischief with his friends
Shane Patterson, Gordy Gorham, and many others.
After high school, Donald worked in manufacturing,
sales, and for local landowners. He had a strong work
ethic and was known as a hard worker. Donald also had
a deep love for his dogs, “Bandit” and “Little Bit.”
Most of all, Donald was known for infectious smile,
his outgoing personality, and his love of life.
Donald passed away on July 23, 2022, after a brave
battle with cholangiocarcinoma.
Donald is survived by his mother, Carol Crowson;
his father, Donald Dickison Sr.; his sister, Shelley
Wisenor; and two daughters, Mariah and Sophia.
He was preceded in death by his older brother Joel
Dickison.
Anyone who wishes to donate to a cause in
his honor, please consider something to help fight
cholangiocarcinoma in hopes that they may find a cure
for this disease.

April 9, 1946 - August 3, 2022
Kenneth Dale Webb, 90, of
Union, died Aug. 8, 2022, at the
Grande Ronde Hospital.
A graveside service will be held
at the Union Cemetery on Friday,
Aug. 26, 2022, at 10 a.m.
Those who wish may make
contributions in his memory to the
Union VFW. Arrangements are en-
trusted to Daniels-Knopp Funeral,
Cremation & Life Celebration Center.
Kenneth was born on Dec. 3, 1931, the son of Delmer
and Elsie (Johnson) Webb in Greenfield, Oklahoma. In
the 1940s he lived in Colorado for a time before mov-
ing to Union County. He served with the United States
Army during the Korean War. After his honorable dis-
charge he returned to Union County. On July 30, 1969,
he married Marjorie Pembrook. She preceded him in
death on Feb. 3, 2003.
Kenneth worked for Fleetwood Manufacturing until
his retirement in 2008. He was a member of the Union
VFW. He enjoyed woodworking, especially making
toys and fishing.
Survivors include his children, Les Webb of Perry,
Darin Webb of Garabaldi, Stacie Campbell of Ely, Ne-
vada, and Randy Webb of Union; sister, Carlene Raff
of Bonney Lake, Washington, and other relatives and
friends.
Margaret Kingman, 76, of La
Grande, Oregon, died on August
3, 2022. A private family graveside
service will be held at Grandview
Cemetery in La Grande.
Margaret was born on April
9, 1946, to Robert and Helen
(Michael) Kingman in Batesville,
Indiana. The family later moved
to Baker City, Oregon, where she
graduated from Baker High School in 1964.
Margaret’s favorite color was lavender. She loved
the colors of Spring and enjoyed playing guitar. She
was a Majorette for the Baker City Drum and Bugle
Corps. Margaret would like to be most remembered for
her sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Margaret
is survived by her brothers, Louis (Pat) Kingman and
John Kingman; and her sisters, Mary (Mark) Karl and
Nancy (Dusty) Simonis.
The family would like to thank Bullock’s Country
Care for her excellent care these last 7 years.
