2 Wednesday, December 17, 2020 GO! magazine — A&E in Northeast Oregon ‘View Finder’: A photography show ■ Josephy Center’s exhibit features 11 artists and 52 photos By Lisa Britton For EO Media Group JOSEPH — The Wallowa Valley Photo Club’s new exhibit, “View Finder,” is on display through Dec. 22 at the Josephy Center for Arts and Culture. Jane Glesne, a photographer featured in the show, said it’s worth it to see the entries in real life. “It’s great to see them in person. The frames are really neat, too,” she said. It’s also easier to see the different styles — acrylic, metal, canvas and traditional — when viewing the actual works, she said. The center, 403 N. Main St., is open Monday through Friday from noon to 5 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. Social distancing and masks are required. Those who prefer to see the show from home can view the photos at www.josephy.org/view-fi nder/. From there, explore the show by clicking on the name of each artist, which brings up his or her entries. Viewers, in-person and virtual, are encouraged to vote for the People’s Choice Award. Online, the form is at the bottom of the page. There are 52 photographs fea- tured in the show. The Wallowa Valley Photo Club was established 31 years ago. “A lot of the original people are still in the club,” Glesne said. “Edu- cation is the push for our club, and just getting out and shooting.” Prior to the pandemic, she said, club members often gathered to watch videos on photographic techniques. Over the club’s lifetime, photography has moved from fi lm to digital. “It’s a challenge for some of us,” Glesne said with a laugh. Their meetings on the fi rst Thursday of each month are on Image by Jane Glesne Zoom for now, but Glesne said that has allowed members to attend who don’t like venturing out at night for a meeting. The photographs in “View Find- er” are for sale through Josephy’s website, and the photo club also is selling a limited number of 2021 calendars at local stores.
