All are able to adapt in one way or another to live in a land of extremes, such as winter darkness for weeks on end as temperatures plunge below zero. 8 p.m. on HALL Movie: Good Morning Christmas! Two bitterly competitive TV hosts (Alison Sweeney, Marc Blucas) are dispatched to a festive small town over the Christmas season to cover the community’s holiday festivi- ties. They’re both professional enough to act chummy while on camera, although that’s strictly for the sake of appearances. As their assignment continues, however, they begin to discover there’s far more to each other than they ever imagined. Jillian Walchuck, Ian Collins and Ni- cole Oliver also star in this 2020 holiday romance. 9 p.m. on HBO Movie: The Mystery of D.B. Cooper Filmmaker John Dower’s new documentary explores the only still-unsolved airplane hijacking in U.S. history, a saga that con- tinues to inspire wild speculation about the identity of the figure at its center nearly 50 years after the incident occurred. Dower’s film explores four differ- ent theories of the case, talking to people like Jo Weber, who suspects her late husband may have been “D.B. Cooper,” who hijacked a passenger plane and parachuted over Washington State with $200,000 in stolen cash, never to be seen again.
