Community Scrapbook 7A Thursday, February 13, 2020 The Observer LMS announces honor roll LA GRANDE — The following students were named to La Grande Middle School’s second-quarter honor roll for the 2019-2020 academic year. Students must earn a GPA of 3.50 or higher to be on the LMS honor roll. 6th grade Photo contributed by Brent Huntsman Jacob Huntsman, a senior at La Grande High School and a member of Boy Scout Troop 586, stands beside the 40-foot fl agpole that he worked to install at the school’s new LHS track, thanks to his Eagle Scout project. The La Grande School District agreed to pay for half of the project, and Huntsman raised the other half. He contact- ed state Rep. Greg Baretto of Cove, who donated the large fl ag. Oregon Trail Electric Co-Op assisted with transporting and installing the pole and fl ag. “A lot of people helped me get this fl agpole here,” Huntsman said. “I’m very grateful to live in a place where people are so giving and helpful.
