Puzzled, then intrigued by this turn of events, Amalie returns to her hometown in search of clues she hopes will reveal who sent the note and why. She’s surprised, then, when instead she’s tasked with opening a brand-new hotel in her Christmas-loving hometown of Garden Grove. She understands why as soon as she arrives, since the locals are vocally against a chain hotel intrud- ing on their community. While the primary draw will be a chance to see Eddie Murphy interacting with such current first-tier “SNL” cast members as Kate McKinnon, Kenan Thompson and Aidy Bryant, there’s also an A-list musical guest: Lizzo, the breakout singer and rapper who’s up for eight awards in January’s Grammy Awards ceremony. 9 p.m. on SHOW Movie: El Chicano Director and co-writer Ben Hernandez Bray’s 2019 action thriller has been dubbed “the first Latino superhero movie” for its story about a Los Angeles police detective (Raúl Castillo) who decides to assume the identity of a masked vigilante named El Chicano in order to repel a Mexican cartel that’s at- tempting to reclaim Southern California as Mexican territory. He also seeks to win vengeance against a gang leader (David Castañeda) for the murder of his brother. Aimee Garcia and Jose Pablo Cantillo also star.
