Young actress Dafne Keen stars as Lyra, an orphan who has grown up at Jor- dan College, Oxford, England and serves as the protagonist of the fantasy. Ruth Williams, James McAvoy and Lin-Manuel Miranda also star. 9:01 p.m. on FOX Prodigal Son Bright’s (Tom Payne) all-consuming hun- ger to find answers leads him to a junk- yard, where he narrowly escapes a hail of gunfire in the new episode “Q&A.” Later, he and the NYPD team discover multiple human bodies on the scene, spanning decades. Bright strongly suspects the deaths are the work of a serial killer who had something to do with The Surgeon. Elsewhere, Ainsley (Halston Sage) teams up with Bright after her exclusive interview with their father (Michael Sheen) takes an unexpected turn. 11 p.m. on PBS Independent Lens In the new documentary “Decade of Fire,” filmmakers Vivian Vazquez Irizarry, Gretchen Hildebran and Julia Steele Allen reopen a dark chapter from 1970s New York, when virtually the entire borough of The Bronx burned down, reducing the community to rubble.
