Arrested: Courtney Michelle Hendrickson, 20, a transient, was arrested on a Union County Circuit Court warrant charging failure to appear in court. The warrant was con- nected to an original charge of third-degree theft. Arrested: Trishila Lynn Sorensen, 36, a transient, was arrested on a Union County Circuit Court warrant charging second-degree criminal tres- pass and offensive littering. Arrested: Steven D. John- son, 29, unknown address, was arrested on a parole and probation warrant. The warrant charged a parole violation con- nected to an original charge of third-degree robbery. Arrested: Jeremiah A. Erb-Gibbons, 21, unknown ad- dress, was arrested on a Union County secret indictment war- rant charging second-degree burglary. Arrested: Shawn Michael McAdams, 28, unknown ad- dress, was arrested on a Lane County parole and probation warrant and arrested while lodged in the Union County Jail on a charge of failing to register as a sex offender, two counts. The warrant was con- nected to an original charge of third-degree rape. Arrested: Howard Jordan Jackson, 58, Island City, was arrested on a Spokane Police Department warrant charging vehicle theft. Arrested: Haldane St. Clair Wallace, 31, unknown address, was arrested by the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Offi ce on a Union County warrant charg- ing failure to appear in court. The warrant was connected to original charges of recklessly endangering another person, two counts; reckless driving; and violating the speed limit by driving at least 100 miles per hour. Arrested: Ismael Barau, 51, unknown address, was arrest- ed on a charge of driving under the infl uence of intoxicants. Arrested: Shawn Michael McAdams, 28, unknown address, was arrested while lodged in the Union County Jail on a charge of failing to register as a sex offender, two counts. Arrested: LaTrisha Maureen Williams, 28, a transient, was arrested on charges of fi rst- degree theft, second-degree theft and fraudulent use of a credit card, four counts. UNION COUNTY SHERIFF Arrested: Damon Alan Preuss, 27, a transient, was ar- rested on a probation detainer. Arrested: Jace Darrell Clark, 27, a transient, was arrested on a charge of a probation violation. Accident: Nobody was injured in a traffi c accident at Fourth Street and Patton Street in Summerville Sunday. Arrested: Derek Robert Shannon, 30, unknown ad- dress, was arrested on a charge of second-degree theft, conspiracy to commit second- degree theft and third-degree theft, two counts. Arrested: Emily Rose Irwin, unknown address, was arrest- ed on a Lake County warrant charging a probation violation. The warrant was connected to an original charge of danger- ous drugs. Irwin was also ar- rested on charges of conspir- acy to commit second-degree theft and second-degree theft. Arrested: Brittany Nicole Wil- liams, 29, unknown address, was arrested on a charge of third-degree theft. La Grande 1952-2019 William Michael Hart, 66, of La Grande, died Oct. 2 at St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho. A memorial service will be held at at 2 p.m. Oct. 12 at Loveland Funeral Chapel. Casual dress is preferred by the family. William was born Nov. 23, 1952, in Canyon- ville, to William Joe and Margaret Pearl (Keagy) Hart. He resided in Caldwell and Parma, Idaho, and in La Grande. He was married three times: to Bonnie Hart, LaJuana Desaro and Lori Hart. William was employed as a welder and retired from the Plumbers and Pip- efi tters Union. He enjoyed music, guitars, rock ‘n’ roll, fl y tying and fi shing. One of his greatest loves was play- ing with his grandchildren. Surviving relatives include his son, William Samuel Hart of Springfi eld; daughter, Emily Christine Hart of La Grande; nine stepchildren; and 11 grand- children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wil- liam and Margaret Hart. L OCAL B RIEFING From staff reports Union City Council to meet Oct. 14 UNION — The Union City Council will meet Monday for a work session and its regular monthly meeting. The work session will start at 6 p.m. and the council meeting will follow. The work session and meeting both will be at city hall. Dinner raises funds for community projects, LHS band LA GRANDE — The La Grande Lions Club and the La Grande High School Band are hosting a boneless pork rib dinner Oct. 19 at the Union County Senior Center, 1504 N. Albany, La Grande. The event will include performances by LHS Jazz Band small ensembles. Proceeds from the dinner will benefi t the Lions Club Sight and Hearing and Coats for Kids programs as well as other community projects. The fundraiser will also help cover the LHS band program’s various ongoing expenses. Tickets are $30 and must be purchased by Oct. 14. Historical society hears about hidden cemeteries LA GRANDE — The Union County Historical Society will hold a meeting and potluck beginning at noon Oct. 12 in the log cabin at the Union County Fairgrounds in La Grande. Guest speaker LaVelle Gorte will present “Rye Valley & Mormon Basin: Hidden Cemeteries in the Area of the Mines.” ACE offers special docent training opportunity LA GRANDE — Art Center East has launched a volunteer docent program. Docents greet visitors, answer questions and play an active role in building community around the arts. On Oct. 15, there will be a special training event open to current volunteers as well as those who would like to know more. The free training runs from 8:30 a.m. to noon. The fi rst half hour will cover information specifi c to Art Center East. The remainder of the training will be given by Young Audiences, a Portland-based partnering organization, and will focus on ways of engaging the public with art in a gallery setting. Museum event features story of Marie Dorion UNION — The Union County Museum’s Third Tuesday event on Oct. 15 will begin at 7 p.m. in the Little White Church on Main Street across from the museum. Bev White will give the presentation, “The Little-Known Story of Marie Dorion.” The life Dorion, an Iowa Indian, is as remarkable as that of Sacajawea but less well known. The subject of a historical marker on Highway 237 near North Powder, she passed through the Grande Ronde Valley several times. Her epic story of courage, strength and perseverance is worthy of being remembered. Third Tuesday events are free and open to the public.
