He will perform at Churchill Dance Hall, 3451 Broadway, Baker City, Oct. 5. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., and the show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $8 in advance at Sweet Wife Baking, or $10 at the door. Food will be available from MC Taco Bus and beverages from Copper Belt Winery and Barley Brown’s. space for performances. On Oct. 6, Roberts will play at the Josephy Center, 403 N. Main St., Joseph. The concert begins at 4 p.m. Cost is $10 per person. His music has been heard on the major media venues of the U.S. from ABC’s “Good Morn- ing America” to NPR’s “All Things Considered.” His eclectic suite for piano, “New Orleans Streets” (1981-1985), was hailed by historian Al Rose in “I Remember Jazz” as “the single most important contribution to the culture of New Orleans int he past fi fty years.” Trebor Tichenor Joint exhibit of unique collection refl ects artists’ environments ■ Isaak and Boylan’s exhibit opens Friday at the Josephy Center JOSEPH — An exhibit featur- ing new works by Auburn Isaak and Kevin Boylan, “Function of Medium,” will open with a 7 p.m. reception Oct. 4 at the Josephy Center, 403 N. Main St., Joseph. Working in different mediums, using techniques specifi c to their own styles, Isaak and Boylan have created a unique collection that dis- plays their most recent expirations of materials while referencing the environments that surround them. ABOUT AUBURN ISAAK “I draw my color palette from nature in its most elusive form; not defi ned realism in its physical form, but as I interpret and depict it in my mind. This allows me to use abstract as a function to create the landscape that surrounds me. I choose to incorporate my move- ment, discoveries and intuition dur- ing my painting process. ABOUT KEVIN BOYLAN “My work has evolved from my beginnings as a potter to my cur- rent stage as a mixed media sculp- tor and glassblower. Exploring new mediums, learning new techniques and examining my most immediate surrounds — my process almost always results in a non-objective, abstract form. GLASSBLOWING DEMOS Accompanying this exhibit’s opening, there will be a live glass- blowing demo from noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 5 at Moonshine Glass Art, 624 S. River St., Enterprise. The “Function of Medium” exhibit will be on display at the (12+) (4-11) referred to Roberts as “our fore- most composer of contemporary ragtime.” Roberts is an artists of many talents. His visual art has been featured in the international Visionary/Outsider Art magazine, Raw Vision, and in the 2017 New Horizons — Self Taught Art in the 21st Century show at the Hickory, North Carolina, Museum of Art. His poetry appeared in the anthol- ogy, Another South, published by University of Alabama Press.
