Haines School milestone.
After the May 30 muse-
um gathering, the Centen-
nial Celebration moves to
the school. From 6:30 p.m.
to 7 p.m., Haines students
and the Baker Community
Orchestra will present a
musical performance on
the south lawn. Anthony
Johnson, a Haines alumnus
and former principal, will
be the guest speaker.
From 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.,
visitors are invited inside
the school for a tour and re-
freshments provided by the
Mutual Improvement Club.
“People can walk around
and see what it looks like
now,” said Katy Collier,
Haines principal.
She said the school re-
ceived a grant from the
Buerkel-Zollner Founda-
tion to complete the mo-
saic. Mementos from the
past will be on display in
a new case built by Bill
Mitchell Sr.
