The double ring ceremony wus read by Rev. G. R. V. Bolster at 8 o'clock in the presence of a large group of the couple's fi i'ends. Mrs. Kenneth Sawyer i layed the organ processional end recessional. The bride was given in marriage by her father. For thij vceremony, Miss Haf stad wore hei white wool gabar dine uniform with regulation black-trimmed white WAVE'S hat and all white accessories. She carried a white prayer-book cas caded with carnations and pink roses on white satin streamers. The grrtom wore dress blues. Miss Kosie Manny, bridesmaid, wore an American beauty dress maker sit with bl;(ck sequin pillbox hat and black accessories. She carried a nosegay of while carnations and pink roses. Emil Wentland, an uncle of the groom, was best man. Following the wedding, mem bers of the immediate families and a few close friends were guests at a wedding dinner at the Glen Vista club. The bride and groom cut and served a decor ated wedding cake. The couple left for a wedding tour of Oregon. Both are on leave, and will report to their respective stations in about three woeks. Mrs. DeGree is stationed Mrs. Waite to Head Sew and So Club Mrs. Eldon Waite was elected president of the Sew and So club for the coming year during the business meeting held last eve ning when the organization con gregated at the home of Mrs. Claire Davidson. Other new officers are Mrs. Daniel Westenskow, vice piesi dent, and Mrs. Newell Anderson, secretary, A scavenger hunt was the di version of the evening and a gift was presented to each of the five winners. Mrs. Waltor RiinHnv Mrs. Anderson, Mrs. Grant Chan dler, Mrs. Mary Morris and Mrs. Gerald Waite. Prizes for games went to Mrs. Hurst Thompson and Mrs. Ella Waite. She was a student in La Grandes schools and her father was a member of the state police force. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mis. John DeGree, also of Bend. Both the Seabee and his bride were Bend high school stu dents, graduating in 1942. The bride attended the University of Oregon for two terms and was later employed at Camp Abbot. Mrs. Tracy, the former Irma Schilling, has recently been given a discharge from the Women's marine corps, and her husband has received his discharge from the army after two years over seas service. The October meeting of Ack- ei man Parent - Teacher associa tion will be held at 2:30 p. m. Monday in the kindergarten room of the school. Mrs. John M. Mil ler, executive secretary of Union county public health association, has arranged a program on health. Mrs. Roger Thomas, public health nurse, will speak on the services of the public health unit. Mrs. Howard Safford, a patient at Grande Rondo hospital for about a week, is reported to be improving. Women's Society of Christian Service of Fir Street Methodist church met yesterday afternoon in the church parlors. The time v. as devoted to preparing Christ mas boxes for overseas mailing to members of the church. Book study followed. Mr. and Mrs. Arch Bacon arc spending their vacation in Port land and that vicinity. Mrs. James Clark took her son, Bob Clark, to Pendleton yester day morning to board the train lor Seattle, where he awaits tur- ther duly with the navy. He had visited here briefly with his par ents and-his wife, Gerry. Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Huff will leave tomorrow for The Dalles and Portland.
