New units, the or ganization of Cub scouts, and se nior scouting, all have contribut ed to the record growth. According to the latest avail able figures, the record stands as follows: April, 1044, 122 scouts; April. l!)45,rll)0 scouts, 134 cubs. This is a growth of approximate ly 134 percent. Attendance and evidence of ad vancement lia.vic bsen consistent, at the bi-monthly courts of honor. Four scouts received their eagle, Hie highest award given a scout, during the past year. Among tltc new units added to the roster are the Cub pack and Neighborhood patrol at Imhler. Cub packs' now total four, two in La Grande, having combined re k:"urcos. A., new scout troop in Union makes It) scout units in the .1... Alll,..U 1 ... i- uriil .squadron had to be dropped be- cause of leadership difficulties, a ; new explorer unit is being form ed. New Cub packs and an addi tional scout troop are in imme diate prospWV. The Green Har conference held at Catherine creek guard station was well attended. This is the an nual training school for patrol leaders. The present structure, however, at 1308 Washington ave nue was erected in 1926, when Dr. William Ross was pastor. Rev. Mark A. Talney is pastor now. The 25-member choir is direct ed by Dr. Henry Ehlers of the music department of the Eastern Oregon college of education. Sunday school enrollment in all departments is 230, consisting of beginner and primary depart ments, three junior classes, two junior high classes, three high school classes, and two adult Bi ble classes, as well as a home de partment for shut-ins. Women's organizations are: La dies Aid, Missionary society. Searchers. All meet once a month. Social groups are: The Friend ly club and the Men's club, which was organized 30 years ago. Both hold monthly meetings.
