Annual picnic of the former
students and alumni of Eastern
Oregon State Normal school at
Weston will be held Sunday at
Langdon lake, with a politick
dinner at 12:30 p. m. and a bus
iness meeting and program fol
lowing. Mrs. Isis Adler of La Grande
is chairman,, and with C(aude
Price, vice president, and Mrs.
Clarissa Price, secretary, of Wes
ton, will be present and have ex
tended invitations to members of
the group.
The normal school was oper
ated for several years at Weston
before the local school was built.

yesterday and planned to spon
sor father-son banquet in Oct
ober. Committees were appoint
ed. The program for the meeting
was conducted by Mrs. W. A.
Elam. The lesson, "Health
Around the World" was present
ed in the form of a playlet.
The business meeting was con
ducted with Miss Eva Daugherty.

and refreshments were served by

Silver Golf Trophy
Mrs. Anne Pierce won' the sil
ver trophy in the nine-hole golf
tournament held yesterday when
the women's division of the coun
try club met at the club house
for their Wednesday luncheon
and afternoon activities.
Mrs-. Fred Spaeth was winner
of yesterday's flag tournament,
and last week's golf winners were
Mrs. Mabel Graham and Mrs.
Wil.iam Siegrist.

Hope 'chapter No. 13, Order of
the Eastern Star opened its fall
season In the Masonic temple last
night with Mildred Winters,
worthy matron and L. L. Mfc
Bride, worthy patron pro-tem,
presiding.
