The Seattle Raimers dropped a twin-bill slugfest to the Sacra mento Solons 15-2 and 10-7. The Solons scored 25 runs on 34 hits, two of which were homers. The Beavers seemed to come apart at the seams during the middle innings of their games with Pepper Martin's Padres who scored two runs each in the fourth and fifth innings, one in the sixth and seven in th? seventh right after the big stretch. The victory also was Carl Dumler's 20th of the season. A belated San Francisco rally fell one run shy and Los An geles emerged with a 6-5 verdict behind the pitching of Don Os born. The Seals' loss and Solons' split left San Francisco clinging lo third place by a half game. Oakland combined pitching by Floyd Strommo and hitting by Don Smith and Les Scarsella for on 8-5 victory over Hollywood. Stromme struck out 14 batters while registering his 14th hurling triumph.
