Newspaper Page Text1 f 4 Friday, August 10, 19 !5 Aug. 20 Deadline For Applications For Antelope Tags PORTLAND, Aug. 10 (UP) , Applications for the 800 antelope tags to be issued by the Portland ',' office by Aug. 20 to be in time for the drawing the commission announced today. Only 800 tags have been au thorized and a drawing will be held if applications exceed that number. The antelope season will be open Sept. 22 to 30 in all counties having antelope with the exception of two closed areas, Drakes Flat and the Millican- Fort Rock-Wagontire area. Applications for the 800 doe deer tags to be sold for the Fort Rock-Silver Lake area for a post season shoot Dec. 1 to 5 will be held until Oct. 29, the announce ment said. Eugene Mill Burns With $40,000 Loss EUGENE, Aug. 10 (UP) The G. E. Owen lumber company mill just westof the cily limits burned to the ground last night with a loss estimated at $40,000 to $50, 000. The Cliff Williams ' lumber company mill adjacent to it was threatened but was saved. The Owen mill is in the heart of an industrial area. Both Eugene and Bethel fire departments bat tled the blaze, using water from mill ponds. In London the reaction of the news, which came when brokers were at lunch, sent prices of stocks and bonds higher with greatest emphasis on far eastrn issues, including Chinese and Japanese sterling bonds, and shares of the Hong Kong Shang hai banking corporation. Gains were maintained at the close, de spite profit-taking. Lumber Shortage Now Is 'Serious PORTLAND.
