I.A musical program has been arranged as follows: flue-clarinet dtiet, Lois Hill and Dorothy Swart; trio of cello, violin, and flute, Mrs. William Ethridge, JJIn.8 Kopp and Lois Hill; piano aolp, Janette Frazier; violin solo, Patricia Pierce; and a vocal solo. The following AWS officers also will be installed: Irene V.(n Beveren, president; Reita Mur rey, vice president; Fiorina Bee son, secretary, and Elenor Hays, treasurer. Saun ders, the president, presiding. The opening prayer was given by Mrs. Floyd White, and the devotionals and program by Mrs. Turna Jones. Mrs. Anna Wallace and Mrs. Walter Winburn were named to be in charge of communion serv ices for he month of June. Yarn and. Darn Club Group Meets The Yarn and Darn Sewing club gathered last night at the home of Mrs. G. R. Williams, with Lorna Westcnskow and Mrs. Hazel Bryant as hostesses. Twenty-one members were present. The rooms were decorated with bouquets of spring flowers. The evening was sepnt sewing end the guests were served light refreshments. Eastern Star Has Initiation Rites For Six Members Hope chapter No. 13, Order of the Eastern Star, conferred the initiatory degree upon six can didates last night in the Mason ic temple. Ellu Weathers Russell was a visitor and protem officers were Bess Cook and Id Cherry. Mary Miller and Theresa Ross, new members, and Oscar Poarch spoke briefly. Vera Fulp told of her visit to a chapter in the mid dle west. Mrs. Russell also spoke. Refreshments were served from a tea table centered by a white basket of pink, white and orchid flowers with four tall pink ta pers on either side. Ida Cherry and Myrtle Broughton presided at the coffee urns. The rooms were attractive with large bas kets of apple blossoms and lilac. Nellie Reynolds was chairman of the hostess committee, the other members of which were: Lillian Hedgren, Alta Bickford, lima Wylde, Grace Streiff, Gert uide McVey, Helen Lane, Ada Kiddle, Vi Rcchlin, Myrtle Hill, Anna Shepherd, Lulu Burnett, Anna Bacon, Ed Reynolds, Ed Sireiff and Walter Lane; Six Are Graduated I At Exercises at ) Friiitdale School ; Graduation exercises were held for six students of the Fruitdale school last night in the school, after a community potluck din ner. Graduates are Leverne Shaef fer, Betty Doss, Gloria Daniels, James Evens, Billy Rynearson, and Bobby Berry. ' A number of skits, all correlat ed into one play, were presented. Participating were Richard Booth, Shirley Doss, Gerry Gra ham, Gene Michel, Bobby Wart, Donald Berry, Patsy Berry, Har i .iti - viui'- i 'v ttr, Gilbert Damon, Doyle Brown, Laura DeLashmutt, Joyce Gra ham, John Evans, Wayne Berry, Gordon Struck and Winona Shaeffer. Richard Booth presented a pi ano solo and a tap routine was danced by Mildred Masterson, Dixie Lee Booth, Janet Michel and Margaret Gragg. Serenaders were Jeanette Michel, Arlene Berry, Elaine Struck and Mildred Masterson. - County Council of P-TA Will Meet Saturday Afternoon The annual report meeting of the county council of parent teacher associations will be held Saturday in Greenwood school. The afternoon activities will start at 1:30 o'clock with registra tion, flag salute, community sing ing and invocation. Mrs. Harold Cantrell, president of Greenwood P-TA,' will extend the greetings'. The business meeting is sched uled to open at 2 o'clock. Re ports on health and summer , roundup will be given by Mr. j Roger Thomas of the county i health unit. Recreation repor'3 will be given by Mrs. Estelle Gar rison, and Mrs. Arthur Gulden will report on alcohol and nar cotics. Installation of officers will con clude the program. Porlo Wagoner, Mrs. Kenneth Workman, Mrs. Alvin Westen skow, and Mrs. Fred Young. Lodge Group Will Go to Pendleton The Women's Benefit associa tion held a special meeting last night in the IOOF hall. Obliga tions of the order were conferred upon three candidates. The Pendleton rally May 18 was discussed and it was an nounced that all members who plan to attend will meet at 1:30 p. m. tomorrow in the IOOF hall for practice. Specials! ' Too Many Husbands Bring Prison Tmn SACRAMENTO, Cal May 10 (UP) Mrs. Velma Suberly, 20-year-old blonde, undivorced wife of eight servicemen, today wis under sentence to two years in a federal penitentiary after Federal Judge Martin I. Welsh ruled she was not entitled to probation af ter her guilty plea of using the mails to defraud. Mrs. Suberly pleaded guilty to charges of collecting allotment checks from four husbands in the armed services.
