Not more than 88 per cent of season's ra tion's should have been used to dcte. Technician Fifth Giade Fred W. Hagey, arrived here yester day for d furlough with his mother, Mrs. Ella M. Hagey, aft-?r serving 34 months in the Pacific area with the aviation signal unit. Hagey entered the army April 13, l41, and in June of that year sailed for Australia where he compk-ted his training. He has participated extensively in the campaigns, coming here from Luzon. At the conclusion of his fur lough he will report at Santa, Ana Calif., for reassignment. Ernie Rostock will leave Thurs day morning for Georgia to re sume naval and cadet training, after a five day visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Ros tock. For the past two months Rostock has been stationed ut Purcell, Okla. evening was announced by Mrs''-3 Grande. Ensign William Fleenor is here on leave from Jacksonville, Fla., where he received training as a navy pilot and is visiting his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. John Garity, before reporting to San Francisco for duty assignment. Assignment of Sgt. Theodore O. Mathson of Perry to a coast defense unit on the Hawaiian is land of Oahu is announced in an army communiction. Mathson is a motor sergeant in one of the searchlight bat teries. He has been overseas since June, 1942, and prior to his present assignment was a mech anic and motor technician. He was employed by the Union Pacific railroad prior to entering the aimed forces. Delbert O'Neil, advising them he is in Germany, where he visited a medieval castle that was erected at the turn of the 12th century. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Shen field and children visited rela tives and friends here Monday. Mr. and Mrs. James Ruth are spending the week in Portland. Demonstration of Day in School Is Staged by Children Children of second grade of the J. H. Ackerman elementary school today invited the other children and their parents and friends to a program, "A Day in the Second Grade." They told and showed many of the things they have been doing during the year. The first scene was "In the Morning" showing all the children in the room at work. During the language ac tivities period they dramatized the story of "The Three' Little Pigs." The children taking part were Barbara Carter, mother pig; Benny Neer, first little pig; John Williamson, second little pig; Richard Arends, third little pig; Gary Wood, the man with the straw; Fred Eooher, the man with the sticks; Vern Bean, the man with the bricks, and Lynne Olsen, the wolf. For the physical education per iod they presented a May pole dance. Participating were Roger Williams, Ann Lynch, Janete Sherwood, Joan Garity, Tim Todd, Rita Glen, Gaylee Briggs, David Sigler, Elaine Barney, Kay Rundell, Carol Norby, Dale Standley, Dickie Raff, Jeannine McPherson.
