Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Graham and
family returned Sunday from a vaca
tion trip to Eugene, Newport, Port
land, and other points of interest In
Western Oregon. They went first to
Eugene over the John Day highway
and the McKenzle Pass and then to
the coast, returning to Portland on
Saturday and back to their home
here on Sunday morning.

night from Eugene where she has
been attending the summer session
of the University of Oiegon. Follow
ing the closing of school she spent
the weekend at the Christian Endeav
or summer conference at Turner,
Oregon, Miss Oelbel will remain here
for about two weeks visiting with her
mother, Mrs. Bessie Gelbel, before
going on to her school at Albany,
where she Is a teacher.

Dale E. Anderson, 7. son of Mrs.

bruised at 7:45 p. m. Monday when
he was knocked down on M avenue
between Second and Third streets by
a car driven by L. Stumpenhnos.
In reporting the accident to the
police, the driver said he was driving
slowly and that children were play
ing In the street. One ran in front
of his car, and he swerved to the
left, his car swiping the child and
