WEST COAST WAITS FOR VOTE COUNT (Continued From Page One) the uncounted ballots were sped to San Francisco by airplane, there to be tabulated by members of the me diation board. E. P. Marsh of -the department of lnbor, who supervised- the Portland election, left this morning by plane for San Francisco to be present when the votes are counted. There was every indication here, and at Vancouver, Wash., and Marsh field, Ore., that the longshoremen had voted to arbitrate. Meanwhile cargo was being worked on five vessels here, and it was planned to take a caravan of about 30 trucks to municipal terminal No. 4 tills afternoon. Police, however, had urged thut hauling activity at the terminal be- postponed until the re sult of the orbltmtlon vote was an nounced. Alt the talk of a threatened general strike, was quieted until the outcome of the balloting was learned. , A shortage of gasoline, critical last week, had today .been entirely re. lleved as oil companies sent dozens of trucks hurrying over the city. Pickets of seamen's unions last week prevented movement of the fuel. Hay fever, asthma, eczema, food Idiosyncrasy, etc., have been found to be family weaknesses In 33 per cent of 7,000 students studied by tht Uni versity .of, Michigan health, service.
