Dorothy Blake, Homer West Both of Baker Wed Here Sunday At Home of Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Green MISS DOROTHY LEAD Society An - Impressive wedding ceremony took place Sunday, July 8. when Miss Dorothy Blake was united In mar rlage to Mr. Homer West, both of Baker. 4 The marriage was solemnized at the home of the bride's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. B. Oreen, 708 N avenue. Preceding the ceremony Ralph Oeibel, of La Grande, sang "Oh Promise Me," and "I Love You Truly," then to the strains of Mendelssohn's Wedding March, play ed by Mrs. R. J. Green, the bride en tered the room on the arm of her father, Oeorge A, Blake, who gave her away. Before an altar banked with flowers, the two knelt before the Rev, O. P. Trimble, who read the Impres sive marriage service. ' The couple's only attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Marlon Chandler. The bride was ra dlantly lovely In a white silk gown caught with orange blossoms and car rying a bouquet of bride's roses. Mrs, Chandler, as matron of honor wore her lovely wedding gown. After the ceremony, a delicious wedding breakfast was served to the 30 guests present. The young couple left soon on their honeymoon, trip to the coast, but be fore departing the bride toused her bouquet which was caught by Morna Burgess. Mrs. West's gotng-away frock was a white sports suit with red ac cessories. Mrs. West Is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oeorge A. Blake, of Baker. She Is an accomplished pi anist, being a graduate of the Phil adelphla Academy of Music. Mr. West Is the son of Mr, and Mrs. D. W. Da vis, of Baker, and has been connect ed with tho First National bank there for the past ten yearn, They will be at home after July 22, at 2370 Fourth street. . Members of families of the Huff connection enjoyed a family reunlou Sunday at Wallowa Lake, when Mr. and Mrs. H. C. McClay entertained at an all-day party at their cabin at the head of the lake. Dinner was served at noon and the remainder of the day was spent swimming, hiking, boating and with other sports. Pres ent for the affair were Mr. and Mrs. c. B. Brace was the victim of the happiest kind of a surprise Sat urday afternoon at her home, 603 N avenue, when her daughter. Miss Marie, arranged an afternoon party In honor of her birthday anniversary. I Guests were invited for three tobies of bridge, Mrs. Wayne Mack making the high score and. Mrs. Nolan Skiff, low. Mrs. Brace was given a hand kerchief shower by her friends. Re freshments, which concluded the af ternoon, were served by Miss Marie. St. Peters Parish Holds Picnic There was a good attendance at the picnic held Friday evening at Pine Cone by St., Peter's (Episcopal) parish. This was the occasion for the regular quarterly parish meeting and It Is reported to have been a meet enjoyable as well as profitable eve ning. The committee in charge of the arrangements for the' affair con sisted of Mrs. 8. A. Wella, chairman. Mrs. Frank Rechlln, Mrs. J.JC. Camp and Mrs. H, W. Outline. Summer Festival To Be Friday Members of the Christian Endeavor society of the First Presbyterian church are completing their arrange ments for their annual summer fes tival which will be an event of Fri day afternoon and evening. Juvenile Picnic Is Wednesday The Juveniles of the Neighbors of Woodcraft will hold their picnic Wednesday afternoon at ,Plne Cone. Women's Group Will Install Installation of officers will be the principal Item, of business when the Women of the Moose meet Tuesday evening at 8:00 o'clock at the I. O. O.
