A. Barron was honored, at a special meeting of the Guild of St. Petsrs Episcopal church, held yester day at Hon an hall. Mrs. Clark la th enly living one of the six charter members of the criminal guild. Long ago In 1873, a small group of women met In the parlors of the O'Brien ho tel up In Old Town with the purpose of perfecting and organizing and hav ing Sot their great project tho erec tion of an Epijscopal church. There ' was not a church of any denomina tion hero at that tune, an tho wo men made a very diligent solicitation of all the citizens, finally securing enough for tho little church building which was erected on the corner across from the present home of Miss Susanna Deal, 402 Fourth street. Of the six members in that orig inal society, Mrs. Ben Brown was the president anT Mrs. Clark was the treasurer. Others of the charter members were Mrs. Anna Webb, Mrs. O'Brien, mother or H. K. O'Brien, Mrs. Stevens, mother of the lata Jack Stevens and Mrs. Arthur Hemming. ' Mrs. Clark's talk which covered the above historical facts came after an introduction by Mrs. Harriet McDon ald. George Blrnie contributed a beautiful solo, Mrs. Birnle furnish ing the accompaniments. When the refreshments were served by the com mittee Mrs. Henry Hill. Mrs. George Hill. Mrs. C. E. Bay, Mrs. B. P. Wylde and Mrs. G. "A. Barron some of the of heavy winter foods? It's lime to change to crispneas with Keltogg's Corn Flakes. FOR CRISPNESS members who hav belonged to the organization for a longer period of time were floated at a pretty table having a gorgeous centerpiece of spring flowers. Honored In this group were Mrs. Clark, Mrs. MacDon ald, Mrs. James Russell, Mrs. Geer, Mrs. Jiibe Conley and Mrs. Braegger. Mrs, Clark received a lovely plant from one of the local florists and a gift Uom the Guild. It waa a decided ly happy and unresting party. Mrs. Philip Lock wood, presided over the business meeting; which preceded the social port of the afternoon. Dancing- Party Is Postponed The dancing party announced by the Zeta Theta Rho girls for this eve ning, has been postponed on account of the death of Mr. Borlue. An nouncement of the time the party will be held will be nxado later, Fruitdale P. T. A. Friday Afternoon The Fruitdale P. T. A. will hold, its regular meeting at the school Friday afternoon at 2:30. Important busi ness, Including the election of offl ctrs, will bo transacted, and all mem bers are urged to attend. There will bo a program and tho members of the organization will en tertain the children of tins school during the social hour. Clio Club Holds Last Meeting Members of the Clio Dinner club held their last meeting for tills sea son loot evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs Hal Bohnenkamp, 1701 First street. Following the dinner, six tables were arranged for bridge, Mrs. WoWec fieuter receiving' the. ladles' prlzo and Dr. Ray Murphy, the gen tlemen's prize. P. N. G, Meeting Postponed There will bo no meeting of the Past Noblo Grand club Friday after noon as had been announced on. ac count of the death of tho husband of one of the members. ' Public Program At Lane Chapel Under the direction of the Hlveria Parent Teacher association, a program is oelng given Friday evening at Lane chapel as a benefit for the milk fund for undernourished children of that school. Campf ire Girls Hold Meeting The He-Wo-Ke-Te Camp Fire girls met Wednesday evening with Miss Marie MacManus at her home on Spruce street in a very interesting session. Mbs Marie MacManus and Miss Peggy Ferdmandsen gave their hobby talks. The girls planned for a cooked food sale to be held Saturday. Nothing more was discussed.
