sports wear appear with bifurcated
skirts. Some of them may be but
toned and re-buttoned to moke either
a trouser-llke model for active sports
wear or a simple little skirt for tho
strest.
Most of them are from 10 to 12 In
ches from the ground.

Relief Corps held their annual patri
otic program at the X. P. hall Satur
day afternoon with a good crowd In
attendance. Mrs. Nora Oheney and
Mrs. Belle Biulck each gave & paper
on the life of Lincoln and Mrs. Viola
Parker. Mrs. C. L. Scott and Mrs.
Mary Castor gave different phases of
the life of Washington. Mrs. Nora
Jones gave an account of "Old Iron
sides" and Mrs. Anna Schoonover
gave a reading "Utile Bronze But
ton." Mrs. Lulu Ackiey &ang, playing
her own accompaniment on the
guitar. Refreshments were served and
a silver offering taken.

Hosts On Monday

Legion auxiliary held Its annual pa
triotic meeting at the Woman's club
house Monday evening and were hosts
to the legionnaires after each hod
held their separato business meet
ings. Three new members, Mrs. Rob
ert Wells, Mra. Allen Wicks and Mrs.
Harlan McCanu were Initiated during
the business meeting. After the fol
lowing program the evening was

4-H Clubs Making
Ready For The Year

A Union County Farm Accounting
club was also organized yesterday at
Island City, the first time that such
a club has been formed in this coun
ty. No local leader has been appoint

win, vice president; Clayton Fox, sec
retary. !
At Cove the Cove Dairy club was
organized under the local leadership
of Brnest Bell, with Bob Duncan as
president; Billy Duncan, vice presi
dent; and Robert Becker, secretary.
The enrollment is not complete.
Another club which was organized
for the first time In this county is
the Cove Vegetable and Garden club
with 13 members. No local leader has
been selected, however, the officers
are Sarah Brothers, president; Geor
gia Lindsay, vice president; and Ger
trude Hagey, secretary.
The Liberty Calf club was organ
ized last night at the Liberty school
