CUBE BUTTER UP
ONE-HALF CENT
PORTLAND, Jan. 6 Advance
rrf iLe in ihj 5-r ryp scored Of C lb?
butter during the weekend session of
the Portland exchange, reflected both
increased demand and desire of cen
trallzers to ease some of their re
cent losses as & result of the former
sharp price brauts.
Both extras and standards were up
am both quoted at the same price,
which suggested there was something
wrong with either the grading or
quotations. The fact that butterfat
prices were not advanced along with
the higher price on extra butter In
dicated that the price lift for butter
was more or less artificial.
Market on eggs continued unsettled
with practically all private firms fell
ing extras at 20c and the local co-ops
holding for 22c. Outsiders were con
sidered responsible for the break.
